I am a really huuuge fan of Elsie's work and am really excited about the projects... It was a xmas present from Mark - I guess he will be expecting me to make him things now!!!

I also think I am addicted to online classes as I have signed up to no fewer than 7 this year

A change of scene

Hope you like the new autumnal feel of the design :) Autumn is finally here and while I love the colours and look of Autumn I am not happy it is here :( I hate the dark nights (it's dark already at 17:23) I hate leaving the house when it is dark and then arriving home when it is dark. But Autumn means Xmas is coming and I do love Xmas :D.
Yesterday was a busy day - I took my little sister to Brighton University to the open day as she is considering it as one of her university choices, and she loved it - I was suitably impressed as well so I think she has found her first choice, all she now needs is to secure her place and it will be massive changes next year.

I have finished my first week out there in the big wide world of community midwifery and I can honestly say I loved it! I love all the antenatal clinics, meeting the mum's to be - and the post natal visits where I get to meet all those tiny new babies. The days are very very long and are taking quite some getting used to. My placement is 30 miles or so from where I live so it is a lot of driving, and coupled with the long days I am putting in I am finding it quite tough. But I am sure I will be ok once I am used to it, and the enthusiasm keeps me awake! There is so much to learn I can see why it is a 3 yr degree course, the responsibility is huge....I am taking notes of my high enthusiasm because I know I will get bad days and it will be such a help to remember those good times.

I am off now the dark night is calling so I think I am going to curl up with a book - night all

Just a 'Small' post

I am on a high tonight, I was on community placement today and I LOVED it so, so, so much. I was with my mentor in the antenatal clinic and it was fantastic!!!
I didn't want to leave for the day! I feel like I have found my dream job, it's early days I know but I have to record this feeling for the bad days, and they will come I know but today no-one is taking this feeling away :)

I completed this one yesterday for my 'Design Your Life' class - I signed up for this class as a birthday treat for myself, Cathy rocks so it was totally necessary. Sadly I have had so much on I have not had a chance to get going - no time like the present

On an aside my voice is still very raspy but it's not totally gone yet so resting must be helping I guess so another day of silence - must be nice for Mark ;)

I forgot to praise this new addition. I picked this paper trimmer up in Lyndhurst and I am so glad! Ordinarily I would not purchase a Woodware product, but my friend had one and it is fab much better than any I have tried so far... I am so fussy when it comes to paper trimmers which IS sad I know but I cannot help it :p.

The Irony....

I have lost my voice, can you actually believe that!!! I am about to start one of the most important times of my new career and I lose my voice!!!! I am resting it all weekend in the hope that it returns, I have until Tuesday - so honey and lemsip are my new best friends.

One of my dear friends who joined us at the retreat last weekend lost her voice and it is still not back.... I am just hoping that is not going to be me!!!!

In other news, the girl bunnies decided to have a fight last night! Let me tell you I did not see that one coming at all!!!! They were just playing then bam! fur-was-a-flying everywhere. It is not nice when rabbits fight because they can really injure themselves and also they can become un-bonded which would mean they have to be separated forever, I am hoping this was just a girlie tiff becasue that would be too sad, Thumper needs his 2 girls after all!!!!! I will just keep an eye on them all this weekend I think...

I am hoping to get some creative things done as well as my academic work as I need to chill out and relax before my community placement, I am so excited about this because I think that this is what the course and career is going to be all about, meeting the women, helping them during this exciting time. I think community midwifery is where I would like to be in an ideal world, but who knows, I may change my mind! I have to graduate and complete 2 years of hospital placement before I can apply for a community post - but that is all a long long way off - but it's good to have a plan :)

Wednesday Already!

Well this week has flown by so far, I have now officially been 30 for a week! That is scary I do not feel any more mature or grown up so that is a relief!

I feel like I am finally caught up on things this last month has been a bit manic to say the least! I have just 3 more university days before I go off out on my first community placement - I am totally bricking it!!! I have had 4 weeks of theory and that just feels like such a small amount in comparison to what I will be dealing with. Community placement is anything to do with midwifery care that is not hospital based, so I will be working in the anti-natal clinics and then off out with my mentor to do all the postnatal visits :] I am both nervous and excited all rolled into one. I have prepared a notebook to take with me as I do love to ask questions LOL my poor mentor is going to be sick of me!!!! No we are actively encouraged to be inquisitive and that I can do.

I was hoping to get some pictures of all the lovely pages I scrapped this weekend but the light is a bit poor - damn Autumn weather, but that does mean Halloween is just around the corner and I LOVE Halloween. I was a bit sad last night because it made me think of last year - we had just found our sweet Pumpkin was poorly, I will really miss her this year. I have the Orange tiger - which is his new name now, he likes to eat, bite and kill teddy bears - a true predator!!!

Just about - I have been so busy!!!! Let's see where did I leave everyone??

Saturday the 4th was my Party which was fab!!! So much hard work though... Thankfully no more 'big' birthday's are on the horizon...

Then the 8th was my 30th... I am officially old now, I had a really lovely day lots of presents and cards so thank you everyone.

This weekend I went to the New Forest with my pals from the Lurve Thread on UKS, what a blast that was!!! We got lots of scrapping done and enjoyed many laughs and smiles, the girls who arranged the whole weekend should do it professionally because it was amazing.

I am on my first community placement next week as well - I am so nervous!! I cannot help it but excited at the same time... Anyway I will leave you with some pics - and will update more shortly :)
